Carollo Engineers Electrical/Instrumentation and Control Inspector in Walnut Creek, California

We are seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation and Control Inspector to helpmanage and increased workload of electrical and I&C specialty projects that are emerging throughout the industry.

Responsibilities
Inspects construction contract related to water and wastewater facilities.
Reviews contract plans and specifications for constructability, notes, errors, omissions, and potential problem areas
Schedules, plans, coordinates, and completes site inspections
Coordinates construction related system outages with client facilities
Prepares complete inspection reports and maintains a daily log.
Maintains complete project files including a project photo file.
Keeps detailed records of construction progress, changed conditions, and as built drawings
Prepares monthly estimates of quantity of construction completed
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with contractors, consultant, and owner.
Provide assistance and verifies alternate methods of construction to meet the intent of each related code.
Provide assistance to architects, engineers, and contractors concerning electrical issues and designs.
Review assigned construction plans and engineering calculations for electrical systems to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and recommend method of compliance to meet the intent of each related item.
Knowledgeable with relevant building and energy codes and how they apply to electrical installations. Provide interpretation and recommendations to ensure compliance with the intent of each code.
Interpret and apply various utility standards and regulations as well as the RBC.
Explains and clarifies code related problems with contractor field personnel.
Communicate and uphold standards consistently.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
5 years’ experience of responsible field inspection; Also requires 5-10 years of related experience on field projects, as well as formal certification from an independent organization, depending on type of inspection assignment.
Completion of OSHA 10 hour safety course and other construction training
In-depth knowledge of standard construction specifications, codes and special standards, methods, materials and equipment used in construction, preferably of water and wastewater facilities
In-depth understanding of OSHA Construction Safety Orders
Ability to keep neat, accurate, and concise records
Work independently with minimum supervision
Strong oral and written communications skills
Strong computer and internet skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working as an electrician and/or instrumentation and controls technician.
4-year college degree or equivalent
Experience with inspections at wastewater or water treatment plants is essential for this role. This is a full-time role with benefits, on a long-term project.
A willingness and ability to travel
Pay Range
$110,000 to $164,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
