Carollo Engineers Grants Analyst in Phoenix, Arizona

This position is remote.

Responsibilities

  • Research available grants from federal, state and local funding sources

  • Track pending federal and state legislation to identify potential funding opportunities

  • Assist with development of funding strategies for complex projects

  • Conduct outreach to funding agency staff to discuss funding program details and vet program applicability to projects

  • Establish priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal of funding proposals to meet deadlines

  • Develop grant proposals and low interest loan applications including identifying and reviewing needed documentation, developing project descriptions, identifying project benefits, developing cost-benefit analyses and project budgets, etc

  • Maintain quality results by using templates and following grant proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone

  • Coordinate requirements with contributors including the client, project manager, engineers and subconsultants to procure required financial, environmental and technical documentation

  • Assist withpreparationof proposals for new work, internal/external presentations, and reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Sustainability, English, Journalism, Media, Construction Management, or related field)

  • Minimum of two years of experience in the field of engineering, policy, grant writing, or prospect research, or a minimum of five years comparable and transferable skills acquired in a professional setting

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Experience insustainability or environmental policy

  • Be an excellent writer who excels on tight deadlines

  • Exceptional research skills and ability to translate complex information into clear, concise and coherent language

  • Excellent oral communication skills, including presenting to clients or stakeholders in a simple and concise manner

  • Creative, curious, and team-oriented attitude

  • Ability to work within a small team that may be spread across multiple geographic locations and time zones

  • Ability to work independently on specific assignments once direction is provided

  • Willing and able to travel overnight as needed (less than 20% of the time)

  • Must be a proactive self-starter who responds well to multiple and simultaneous tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Funding experience with federal, state, and local agencies related to water/wastewater/ infrastructure field or comparable

  • Technical report and proposal writing experience
