Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing marketing and technical expertise to expand our wastewater group in the area

  • Assisting in the marketing and management of major wastewater projects and clients in the Midwest

  • Mentoring and training of wastewater staff and serving as a leader to improve Carollo’s technological expertise in the latest “high tech” wastewater planning, design and construction methods

  • The main focus will be to increase Carollo’s presence in the wastewater market and will require travel throughout the Midwest

Required Skills

  • A demonstrated ability in physical, chemical, biological process, and hydraulics

  • Knowledge of structural and geotechnical design concepts, analytical laboratory techniques, and familiarity with codes and regulations related to wastewater treatment is essential

  • Familiarity with a broad range of the location area issues related to wastewater systems including master planning, collection/ distribution and pumping, with an emphasis on wastewater treatment design and operations, and intimate knowledge of the regulatory approval process

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, market effectively, and develop strong project team members while delivering high quality services within budget and schedule constraints


Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

  • 20+ years of experience with designing and managing medium to large-sized projects with full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations, client service, and quality standards

  • Should have existing relationships with local and statewide municipal and private clients

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer

Preferred Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
