Carollo Engineers Project Controls Engineer in BC, California

Overview

Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized engineering firm specializing in the planning, design, and construction oversight of water and wastewater facilities. Carollo’s Construction Services Group (CSG) has an immediate need for a dynamic Field Engineer. You will be part of our growing CSG, which includes construction management and construction engineering professionals with discipline specialties at all levels. Responsibilities

  • Understand project scope and contract requirements

  • Aid senior staff in contract administration tasks and assignments

  • Provide timely and accurate project controls reporting and reviews to management

  • Provide detailed reviews of construction cost proposals and claims

  • Provide reviews of contractor commissioning and startup sequences and plans to ensure conformance with contract requirements

  • Review contractor submittals of startup and commissioning field results and documentation

  • Coordinate with management personnel to assess status reporting and identify and review risks

  • Flexible work schedule and location; limited travel to project sites on as-needed basis

  • Base salary is dependent on experience and location

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, or related field

  • Must have water/wastewater project experience

  • 5-10 years’ experience including a lead role in $10 million or greater water/wastewater project

  • Demonstrated experience in project controls work on engineering and construction projects, including planning, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, cost and schedule control, and project reports. Must have strong contract administration background.

  • Ability to interpret and analyze construction schedules and claims

  • Thorough understanding of construction management processes and in-depth financial understanding of construction management

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and lead engineer/project team, and deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraints

  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and be extremely organized

  • Must have strong knowledge and understanding of construction methods, standards, drawings, and specifications

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Strong computer and internet skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Flexible work schedule and location; limited travel to project sites on as-needed basis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer License

  • Large, complex water/wastewater or similar, project control experience

  • Working knowledge of construction management software including Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, and Microsoft Project

  • Certifications: CCM, PMP, PSP
